My name is Darren Spurrill, and I’m a Chartered Professional Accountant. I served as the assistant controller for one of the leading engineering consulting firms in western Canada for the past three years, working as a staff accountant for several years beforehand. I have a passion for quality organizational management, and have a wealth of experience in various aspects of business administration, including financial & management reporting, risk management, and control systems design & implementation.

I started this consultancy to help small organizations in Winnipeg succeed. In my previous role, I came across many small businesses that looked like they may need help with professional financial and organizational management. Going through job postings, it became clear to me that only mid- and large-sized companies had the budget to hire a full-time controller, but I knew smaller organizations need this support, as well. This is where I come in – providing controllership services to small businesses and not-for-profits on a contract, part-time basis.

In my spare time, you can find me spending time at The Forks, out for a run or working out, and enjoying my season tickets to the Blue Bombers!
